Ingredients used in Natthala fish Curry
• Natthalu (fish - clean and remove the outer layer) - 250 grams.
• Onions - 1-2 number.
• Coconut oil - 1 tablespoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Green chilies (slitted) - 3 number.
• Curry leaves - 3 springs.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Fenugreek powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Coriander powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Cumin powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Red chili powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Tamarind juice - 1 cup.
• Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1 bunch.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
Grill onions on griller till the color of the outer layer turns blackish, remove the outer layer and grind to a fine paste. Heat coconut oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, green chilies, curry leaves, onion paste and saute it for about 1-2 minutes. Thenadd salt, turmeric powder, fenugreek powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, ginger garlic paste, red chili powder and cook well by stirring occasionally. In the same pan, add tamarind juice and cook it till raw flavor are gone. At last, add fish pieces along with chopped coriander leaves and let it cook for about 5 minutes.
