Ingredients used in Kandi Kattu
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tablespoons.
• Garlic cloves - 5 numbers.
• Green chilies - 6 numbers.
• Red chilies (dry) - 4 numbers.
• Onions - 1 numbers.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tablespoons.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tablespoons.
• Toor dal - 150 grams.
• Curry leaves - 5 numbers.
• Coriender leaves - 5 numbers.
• Oil - to fry.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
Fry the toor dal without oil or ghee. Boil some water. Add dal to boiled water. Add dry red chilies. Once the dal is cooked add garlic and cumin seeds. Grind this dal till it becomes sooth paste. Tempering (Popu): Heat oil in a pan. Add green chilies, curry leaves, mustard seeds, chopped onions, turmeric powder. Once this is fried, add the above dal mixer (which was grinded). Add water as required. Add salt. Cover with a lid and boil in low flame for 15-20 mins. Add coriander leaves. Kandi kattu ready ?»?ü?á
