Ingredients used in GHIYA DAAL
• Salt - to taste.
• Desi ghee or oil - 4 tablespoons.
• Ginger & garlic paste - half tablespoon.
• Chopped onion - half number.
• Green chilli - 4 numbers.
• Tomato - 1 number.
• Chana daal - 1 cup.
• Chooped ghiya(bottlegourd) in small pieces. - 2 cups.
• Turmric - half tea spoon.
• Red chill powder - to taste.
• Kasturi methi - half tea spoon.
• Coriander powder - half tea spoon.
Method:
  • Soak Chana Daal in water for 4-5 hours.
  • Add Ghee or oil in pressure cooker and heat it.
  • Add Onion and put little salt and fry it till golden brown.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and saute it for few seconds
  • Add green chillis and mix well and saute it for few more seconds.
  • Add turmric,redchilli podwer, coriander powder,kasturi methi powder and mix well
  • Add Tomatos and and mix it till tomatos slietly cooked.
  • Add Ghiya, daal and mix well.
  • Add water in which ghiya daal is soaked and add more water if required as all the ingredients should be dipped.
  • Cover the cooker lid and cook it on midum heat for 12 minutes after the pressure made in cooker.
  • Open the cooker when pressure released and mix it well.

Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with rice or roti.
