CHICKEN KOFTA CURRY

Ingredients used in CHICKEN KOFTA CURRY
• Chicken - 300 grams.
• Almonds - 8 numbers.
• Melon seeds - 1 tablespoon.
• Poppy seeds - 1 tablespoon.
• Oil - 3 tablespoons.
• Brown onions - 1/2 cup.
• Whole garam masala (cloves, cardamom, cinnamon stick) - 3 numbers.
• Cumin seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon.
• Tomato puree - 2 tablespoons.
• Coriander powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Cumin powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Chili powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Yogurt(beaten) - 3 tablespoons.
• Pistachio (chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
• Mint leaves(chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
• Garam masala powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Chili flakes - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Cashew nuts - 8 numbers.
• Bay leaf - 1 number.
• Green chilly - 1 number.
Method:
  • Heat water in a pan add almonds, cashew nuts, melon seeds, poppy seeds, cook it for 15 minutes then put it into the blender and make a fine paste along with fried onions, keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds, whole garam masala, green chili, ginger garlic paste, saute it and add tomato puree, cook it for few minutes.
  • Then add prepared nuts paste, add cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, chili powder, mix it well, add curd, cook this for few minutes.
  • In a bowl add minced chicken, mint leaves, pistachios, red chilly flakes, salt, and mix nicely to make round ball koftas using ahand.
  • Place in boiling gravy mixture and place lid and cook for 10 minutes, switch off the flame and serve it with jeera pulao.
