Ingredients used in Bommidalu Masala Curry
• Bommidalu fish - 500 grams.
• Poppy seeds - 1 tablespoon.
• Water - as required.
• Oil - as required.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Onion (chopped) - 1 number.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Turmeric powder/pisi haldi - 1 tea spoon.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Tomatoes (chopped) - 1 number.
• Coriander powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Cumin powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Green chilies (slitted) - 3 number.
• Tamarind pulp - 1 cup.
Method:
  • Dry roast poppy seeds, transferto a blender, add coriander powder, salt,grind it, even add coconut pieces along with required amount of water and grind to a fine paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, chopped onions, curry leaves, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, saute till onions turn slightly transparent.
  • Now, add chopped tomatoes, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, prepared masala paste and cookwith closed lid for about 10 minutes on a slow flame.
  • When oil oozesout of the gravy, add tamarind pulp, slitted green chilies, chopped coriander leaves, adjust seasoning, add cleaned bommidalu fish pieces and cook it.

Hot and delicious BommidaluMasala Curry is now ready to serve.
