Ingredients used in Besan curry (Pindi gaddala pulusu)
• Curry leaves - 1/2 bunch.
• Salt - to taste.
• Jaggery - 1 teaspoons.
• Tomato - 1 small.
• Onions - 1 small.
• Oil - 1/2 cup.
• Banda puvvu(in hindi-dagad phool) - .
• Fenugreek powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Coriander seeds - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Jeera - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Garlic - 2 numbers.
• Besan - 50 grams.
• Coriander - 1/2 bunch.
• Dried red chillli - 2 numbers.
• Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Water - 1/4 cup.
• Tamarind- (lemon size) - 50 grams.
Method:
Method: 1. Take the besan, to this add crushed garlic, jeera and dhania. To the same mixture, add chilli powder, turmeric and salt and mix it to the consistency of chapati dough. Let this stand for a while. 2. Roll it into a chapati and steam it in an idli cooker. Then after its cooked, let it cool. then cut it into small pieces. 3. In a pan, heat oil, add jeera, mustard seeds, curry leaves, methi powder, banda puvvu, red chillies after they crackle add onions and let them fry till golden brown. 4. Then add Chilli powder, salt, coriander powder, turmeric and add tomatoes. Let them fry. 5. Then add the besan pieces and add tamarind extract and jaggery to this. 6. After the oil oozes out, its done. You can also add sesame powder if you wish. This tastes really good with hot steamed rice. Vahchef, Please make this for us in your studio. We will be pleased.
