FATTA FAT CHUTNEY - RAW PAPAYA CHUTNEY

Ingredients used in FATTA FAT CHUTNEY - RAW PAPAYA CHUTNEY
• Raw papaya (grated) - 1 cup.
• Ginger(chopped) - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Green chilli - 3 numbers.
• Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons.
• Salt - 1 to taste.
• Onion (chopped) - 1 number.
• Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1/2 bunch.
• Sweet chutney - 1 tablespoon.
• Sugar - 1 tea spoon.
• Vinegar - 1 tea spoon.
• Tomato(chopped) - 1 number.
• Roasted peanut powder - 1/2 cup.
• Garlic - 4-5 cloves.
• Chili powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
Method:
  • Peel Papaya and grate it thin. Take a blender and add Ginger garlic pieces, cumin seeds, and green chillies to make a fine paste.
  • Add this paste along with papaya and also add chili powder, lemon juice, salt, onions, coriander, tomato pieces, tamarind chutney (sweet chutney), sugar, vinegar and mix it well.
  • Also, add crushed roasted peanuts powder and just mix it.

Serve this with Rotis, bread, and papads.

Chutney made from raw papaya in south indian style Raw Papaya chutney is a very easy to prepare dish, no cooking, time-saving, hassle free fatta fat chutney. It is made with grated raw papaya added with a yummy freshly ground spice mix made of ginger, garlic, green chillies, cucumber leaves and cumin seeds. This is added with more extra seasoning like lemon juice, tamarind chutney, finely chopped onions, tomato, pinch of sugar, vinegar and roasted peanuts. The fatta fat raw papaya chutney is absolutely fresh, all natural and a mix of raw ingredients combined together that gives an awesome zest to the palate. Every ingredient in its natural form offers a fantastic exotic flavor in enhancing the taste and highlighting its taste without overpowering any one ingredient.

 

Recipe: Fatta Fat Chutney – Raw Papaya Chutney

Ingredients:

  1. Raw Papaya, grated                     -       ½ cup
  2. Ginger, finely chopped                -       ½ tsp
  3. Garlic                                               -       5-6 cloves
  4. Cumin seeds                                   -       ½ tsp
  5. Green chillies                                 -       6-8 nos
  6. Lemon juice                                   -       2 tbsp
  7. Salt                                                   -       to taste
  8. Chilli pd                                          -       ½ tsp
  9. Onion, finely chopped                -       2 tbsp
  10. Coriander leaves                          -       2 tbsp
  11. Tomato, chopped                        -       2 nos
  12. Tamarind chutney                       -       1 tbsp
  13. Sugar                                               -       1 tsp
  14. Vinegar                                          -       1 tsp
  15. Peanuts, roasted                          -       ¼ cup

Directions:

  1. Peel and grate papaya.
  2. In a blender jar, add ginger and garlic pieces, cumin seeds, green chillies and grind to fine paste.
  3. Add this paste with the grated papaya. Add chilli powder, lemon juice, salt, chopped onions, chopped coriander leaves, tomato pieces, tamarind chutney or sweet chutney, sugar, vinegar and mix well.
  4. Add crushed roasted peanuts powder and mix.
  5. Serve this with rotis, bread or papads.

Chutney is an integral part of any Indian meal especially South Indian meal. It can be served at any time of the day, breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner. Chutney is made with any variety of vegetable, fruit and mix of both. Fresh chutneys are extremely unique and aromatic to taste. They are thick in consistency, flavorful sauces which either has sweet, sour, tangy or spicy taste.

 

There is no particular rule for making chutney but new trends and cooking styles have changed which lead to individual preference in taste and texture. Chutneys can be served before a meal or with main dishes. Papaya releases a latex fluid when not quite ripe, which can cause irritation and provoke allergic reaction in some people.

 

Papaya is considered a powerhouse of nutrients. It has many health benefits and nutrition experts advocate generous intake of fruits for optimum health as these food items are loaded with all the benefits. Fruits are goldmine of vitamins, minerals and fibre and are ideal to consume at least 4-5 servings in a day. Since they are in the natural form, account for largest part of water and 100% bad cholesterol free, it’s much easier for the body to process and absorb the vitamins and minerals from the fresh fruit.

 

Papaya is also a good source of dietary fiber, vitamin E, vitamin A and vitamin K. Vegetables are important in our daily diet.
