A traditional parsi disg which is made using caramelised onions and sugar which together impart a deep brown colour to this rice, This dish is traditionally served with Dhansak and Kachumbar salad in most Parsi homes.
- Heat oil in a pan add whole garam masala, peppercorns, bay leaves, onion slices, salt, cook the onions till it is brown in color.
- Add sugar lightly caramelize it & mix it well, add water, to the boiling water add Basmati Rice put the lid on and let it cook for 5 minutes.
- Then mix it once and again put the lid on and let it cook for some time in a slow flame and switch off the flame.
- Rest it for 5 minute then serve it.
