Simple, nutritious Maharashtrian dish made with fresh or dried field beans cooked in a mildly spiced gravy.
- Add oil in hot pan and add mustard seeds, when they start to crackle, add cumin seeds, curry leaves, and chopped green chillies.
- Now reduce the flame and add a pinch of hing, turmeric, red chili powder, goda masala and freshly ground coconut paste. Cook these masala adding little water, salt to taste, pinch of sugar and bring this to a boil.
- Add the boiled vaal beans or field beans and allow boiling for few minutes and switch off the flame.
- Top it off with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve.
