Snake gourd and chana dal curry is a simple south Indian side dish. Snake gourd and channa dal (lentil) seasoned with aromatic Indian spices.
- Scrape skin of snake gourd and cut into big pieces.
- Boil chana dal but not mashy and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, onions, salt, curry leaves, green chillies, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder and saute it for 30 seconds.
- Add snake gourd, cumin powder, coriander powder, little salt and mix it.
- Place lid and cook it on slow flame for 3-4 minutes.
- After 3 minutes add chana dal mix and cook for 2 minutes with lid on it.
- Atlast add coriander leaves and mix nicely and switch off flame.
