This one is a chetinad style curry and goes extremely well with rice. idli or dosa.
- Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions, salt, saute it for about 2 minutes.
- Then add ginger garlic paste, tomatoes, turmeric powder, grated coconut, chili powder, coriander powder and let it cook with closed lid for 2 minutes then let it cool down, put it into the blender and make a fine paste.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, red chilies, urad dal (optional), curry leaves, saute it.
- To it, even add the prepared paste of onion, tomatoes and coconut paste, mix this and let it cook with closed lid for 5 to 6 minutes.
