This dish provides with all the required carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, fats, minerals and also has dietary fiber.
- Firstly, in a mixie jar take oats and grind it to make a fine powder. Take it in a bowl and add besan and a little water to it to make a thick slurry.
- Now in a pan add oil, when its hot add cumin seeds, carom seeds, red chili flakes, coriander powder, turmeric powder, grated bottle gourd, and salt. Mix it well and saute it for a minute.
- Add curry leaves and the oats slurry. Mix it continuously till it becomes a lump.
- Transfer it to a greased bowl. With the help of oil on your fingers set the lump by just pressing it.
- Keep it aside for 10minutes for resting. With the help of a knife transfer it on a plate upside down.
- Cut it into pieces starting from the centre. If the knife is sticking just dip the knife in water and then use it.
- When the pieces are ready to add oil in a hot pan and transfer all the pieces into the pan.
- Pan fry or shallow fry all the pieces on slow flame turning to all the sides till they turn golden in color.
- Switch off the flame when they become crispy.
Serve them hot with tomato sauce.
