Mooli Moong Dal is a traditional Rajasthani dal, made with mooli and moong dal, Radish adds sharp and pungent accents in this bland moong dal.
- Peel and cut radish into pieces and keep aside.
- Heat some ghee in a pan and when it gets hot, add cumin seeds, green cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, red chilies, and bay leaf. Saute until you get a nice aroma.
- Add garlic, ginger slices, finely chopped onions, a little salt and fry till the onions turn golden in color.
- Add green chilies, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and radish pieces. Mix well.
- Add little Kasuri methi, salt, and water. Mix, cover the pan with a lid and cook for about 5 to 10 minutes until the radish is done.
- Then add in the curd, boiled and mashed toor dal and mix it well.
- At last, flavour with a small piece of jaggery & chopped coriander leaves, mix and bring it to a boil.
Serve with hot roti, chapatti etc.
