This is a simple south Indian breakfast which is easy to prepare.
- Take a bowl add broken rice, salt and water to soak overnight.
- Soak black gram dal for 1 hour and make a thick paste of it .
- To the rice add black gram dal paste and keep it aside(overnight)
- Heat oil in pan add mustard seeds, bengal gram, black gram, cashew nuts-finely chopped.
- Then add green chilies, dry red chilies, cumin seeds, asafoetida and now add tempering to it.
- Add this mixture to the idly batter and also add soda to it.
- Now add grated carrot, grated ginger, chopped coriander,curry leaves and mix it thoroughly.
- Place this mixture in the idly stand and steam it like idly’s.
Now serve this dish with red chili powder.
