Garlic dal is a quick, easy and soothing dal spiced with lots of garlic and cumin seeds.
- First we need to boil the toor dal. For that wash toor dal and cook in a pressure cooker with red chillies and salt. Cook this for 2-3 whistles and switch off the flame.
- Now before tempering we need to crush cumin seeds and garlic cloves into coarse paste.
- For tempering add little oil or butter in a hot pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves then switch off the flame.
- Mash the dal with the masher and switch on the flame then add turmeric, garlic paste and let it boil for 5 min.
- Check the salt and add if needed then add the tempering into it. Let it simmer for 2 min and switch off the flame.
- Add fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
