Description

This is a typical Gujarati dish which my mom-in-low used to make. It is the potato subji made with Batis made from wheat flour. You can eat it as is or you can eat with plain rice also. 1. Take the whole wheat flour(slightly thicker as compare to roti flour), it should be little bit like sooji. If you dont have that kind of flour then use normal flour and add little bit of sooji in it. 2. Add Salt and 3 tbsp of oil and knead dough with little bit of water. Make dough slight stiff as compare to Roti dough. 3. Now keep it aside for 15 min. It becomes smooth and after that it is easily puff. 4. Meanwhile, cut potatos into peices of mid square size, you can keep it peices little big. 5. Now make small balls and make small roti with hand about half inch diameter and about 2-3 mm thick. 6. Heat the 3 tbsp oil, add musturd sheeds and cumin sheeds, let it crackel and then add potatos, tumeric powder, chilli powder, salt according to taste. 7. Add 2 glass of water in and let it cook for 3 mins till water gets boil 8. Now add Batis which we made in the curry and again cook it till all batis and potatos are cooked properly. So now your Delicious Shak Gati is ready to eat. It tastes nice with Plain Rice or you can eat it alone.
