STIR FRY FISH IN HOISIN SAUCE

Ingredients used in STIR FRY FISH IN HOISIN SAUCE
• Hoisin sauce - 1 tablespoon.
• Chilly paste - 1 tablespoon.
• Onion - 1 number.
• Bell pepper (red, green) each - 1 numbers.
• Chopped ginger - 1 tea spoon.
• Chopped garlic - 1 tea spoon.
• Oil - 2 tablespoons.
• Egg - 1 number.
• Corn flour - 2 tablespoons.
• Salt - to taste.
• Fish - 250 grams.
• Spring onions - 2 tablespoons.
• Zucchini - 1 number.
Method:
  • In a bowl add corn flour, salt, egg, add pieces of fish and coat this mixture into fish pieces.
  • Heat some oil in a pan and fry the coated fish pieces till gold and keep it aside.
  • In the same oil add chopped garlic, chopped ginger, zucchini, bell pepper, onions, chilly paste and toss this vegetable and add water, add hoisin sauce, add fried fish, salt, spring onions, and toss them.

Switch off the flame and serve this hot.

Stir Fry Fish in Hoisin Sauce is a batter coated fish, deep fried until slightly browned and later sautéed with some exotic veggies and drizzled with Hoisin sauce to make it a very appetizing and delectable appetizer. The flavors are delicate, spicy along with the creamy and luscious cream sauce. Hoisin sauce is a thick, pungent and spicy sauce commonly used in Chinese cuisine to glaze the meat or added to stir fries or used as a dipping sauce. It is darkly coloured in appearance and has a nice sweet and salty taste.

 

Hoisin sauce can be prepared in various ways depending on the regional variants. It often includes soy, red chillies and garlic as the main ingredients. Other ingredients are vinegar and sugar. Hoisin sauce is used to flavor a number of Chinese dishes such as spring rolls, peking duck, barbecued pork etc. It is especially common in Cantonese cuisine flavoring. Stir fry Fish in Hoisin Sauce is a very comforting, refreshing and awesome dish with delicate flavors lingering in the palate and can be eaten as a starter or side dish.  

 

Fish is an important and staple food in the coastal regions of India which is available in abundance and cooked in various ways. Every state has its own way of making a special fish curry using local ingredients. There are a variety of fishes that is used for preparing the fish curry. For preparing a delicious Meen Kozhambu, generally they use the korameena or black sole which taste extremely good. Fish curry or Chapala Pulusu in Andhra Pradesh is a signature seafood dish where fish is cooked in a spicy tamarind sauce with spices.

 

Fish curry is generally known as Meen Kozhambu in the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Fish or Seafood dishes are easy and quick to cook, packed with good amount of protein and low in fat. Do try this truly finger licking and healthy dish which will delight your kids asking for more:

How to prepare Stir Fry Fish in Hoisin Sauce:

 

Ingredients:

  1. Fish                                 -       250 g
  2. Salt                                  -       to taste
  3. Corn flour                        -       2 tb
  4. Egg                                  -       1 no
  5. Oil                                    -       for deep frying
  6. Chopped garlic                  -       1 tsp
  7. Chopped ginger                -        1 tsp
  8. Bell pepper (red, green)    -       1 no
  9. Onions                                     -      1 no
  10. Chilly paste                      -       1 tbsp
  11. Hoisin sauce                    -       1 tbsp
  12. Spring onions                  -       2 tbsp
  13. Zucchini                          -       1 no

Directions:

  1. Take a bowl adds corn flour, salt, egg, add pieces of fish and coat the fish pieces well.
  2. Heat some oil in a pan and fry the coated fish pieces until they get slightly golden in colour and keep aside.
  3. In the same oil add chopped garlic, chopped ginger, zucchini, bell pepper, onions, chilli paste and toss the vegetables.
  4. Add little water, Hoisin sauce, and mix well.
  5. Add fried fish, salt, spring onions, and toss them.
  6. Switch off the flame and serve this hot. I am sure that this awesome fish curry recipe will surely greed up your palates and vouch for more.

I think fresh water fish (like barramundi) is better than salt water fish... more flavoursome, and the texture is better, softer (I think). Thanks for the recipe - it is good.
