How to Make Fish Fingers with Philips Airfryer by VahChef

Ingredients used in How to Make Fish Fingers with Philips Airfryer by VahChef
• Fish(cut into finger sizes) - 200 grams.
• Red chili powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1 pinch.
• Salt - to taste.
• Lime juice - 1 tea spoon.
• Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1 tea spoon.
• All-purpose flour - 2 teaspoons.
• Egg(beaten) - 1 tea spoon.
• Desiccated coconut - 1/2 cup.
Method:
  • In a bowl add fish pieces, red chili powder, ginger garlic paste, salt to taste, lime juice, coriander leaves, all-purpose flour, beaten egg and mix well to coat the fish pieces. Rest for a while.
  • Take a piece of fish finger and roll it in the desiccated coconut to give a nice coating.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 200 degrees C for 5 minutes.
  • Put in all the fish fingers and fry them at 200 degrees C for 7 minutes.
  • After about 6 minutes pull out the basket, shake and again fry them for another 1 minute.
  • Remove and serve hot with any sauce.

Fish Fingers Fish fingers are a popular dish in the children’s menu at many restaurants that can be prepared by just baking, grilling, and shallow frying or deep fried. This homemade, easy to fry, fat free fish finger is the most simple & best snack that is easy to make. They are crispy crust and tender, flaky fish on the inside. You must try making this snack at least once which will automatically have you finger licking and I bet you'll never buy fish sticks again! The fish fillet are cut into finger sizes, coated with spices and rolled over bread crumbs mixed with a teaspoon of oil and desiccated coconut coated over to give a nice crispness and flavour.

This is fried in Philips air fryer for just about 7-10 minutes and your Fish fingers are ready to eat. Extremely healthy and yummy snack, cholesterol free, hardly fried in just 1 tsp of oil yet truly crispy, soft and pleasant to eat. Fish Fish is an important and staple food in the coastal regions of India which is available in abundance and cooked in various ways. Every state has its own way of making a special fish curry using local ingredients. Fish curry or Chapala Pulusu in Andhra Pradesh is a signature seafood dish where fish is cooked in a spicy tamarind sauce with spices. Fish curry is generally known as Meen Kozhambu in the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. There are a variety of fishes that is used for preparing the fish curry.

 

For preparing a delicious Meen Kozhambu, generally they use the korameena or black sole which taste extremely good. Fish is a highly nutritious food. Being an excellent protein food with fewer calories, it is better than other meat sources. It is rich in omega 3 fatty acids proven to be good for the heart. Fish are an excellent source of high quality protein. The biological value of fish protein is 80.

 

They are low in fat particularly cholesterol & saturated. They are rich in calcium, particularly small fishes eaten with bones. Canned fishes are very rich in calcium since during processing they become soft to be eaten. Additionally marine fishes are good sources of iodine. Being low in sodium they are sufficiently rich in potassium. Fish liver oils are excellent sources of fat soluble vitamins. Rohu (Indian fish) contains Vitamin C. They are also good sources of vitamin D and niacin.

How to prepare Fish Fingers:

Ingredients:

  1. Fish, cut into finger sizes – 200 gms
  2. Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  3. Ginger garlic paste – ¼ tsp
  4. Turmeric - pinch
  5. Salt – to taste
  6. Lime juice – 1 no
  7. Coriander leaves, chopped – 1 tbsp
  8. All-purpose flour – 2 tsp
  9. Egg, beaten – 1 tsp
  10. Desiccated coconut – 3 tbsp

Directions:

In a bowl, add in the fish pieces, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, salt to taste, lime juice, coriander leaves, all-purpose flour, egg beaten and mix well to coat the fish pieces. Rest for a while. In a plate, put the bread crumbs and add 1 tsp of oil and mix well.

Take a piece of fish finger and roll it in the desiccated coconut to give a nice coating. Preheat the air fryer at 200 degree C for 5 minutes. Put in all the fish fingers and fry them at 200 degree C for 7 minutes. After about 5 minutes pull out the basket, shake and again fry them for another 2 minutes.

Remove and serve hot with any sauce. There are a variety of ways to cook fish. Talking from the health point of view the best ways are baking, shallow frying, grilling, poaching and steaming (Steamed Fish).

Please go back to the traditional way of cooking. Enjoyed your recipes so much and always made them with as little oil as possible and they always came out great. The AAPI thing and this Philips gadget are tiring me out. ?
