A perfect combination of dal, fresh coconut & nuts cooked together, coated with a thin outer layer of batter and deep fried. This interesting sweet dish and a puzzle to me in my childhood how the stuffing went inside making me laugh nowadays.
- Dry roast urad dal, toor dal, chana dal, masoor dal, split green gram, grind to a fine powder and keep aside.
- Heat 1 teaspoon of ghee in a pan, add walnuts, pistachios, cashew nuts, almonds and roast them.
- Now add freshly grated coconut to it, cook for about a minute, also add prepared dal powder and saute well.
- To it, add sugar and mix well.
- If required can also add a teaspoon of water for moisture.
- Shape the mixture into small ladoosand coat them with dosa batter.
- At last, deep fry in hot oil till outer layer turns golden brown in color.
