- Roast puffed bengal gram dhal, chironji and poppy seeds separately and grind it together to a fine powder.
- Clean minced meat, drain the water well and grind it to a course paste.
- Fry sliced onions and grind along with green chilies and coriander leaves.
- Add the above dry powder mix followed by ginger, turmeric powder, chili powder, garam masala powder and finally the ground meat to this mixture and blend well.
- Shape the mixture into small round or oval shaped balls and shallow fry using oil till the koftas turn golden brown in color.
- You can add an egg to the mixture while blending to bind all ingredients well or just roll the balls in egg white before frying, if desired.
- Garnish hot koftas with lime slices and onions and serve hot.
