Description

Fish Pickle is an easy recipe,by which we include a Non-Veg item daily in our menu.We can make fish pickle by using Sardine, Butter fish,Seer fish,Promphret,Prawns etc (Better to use fleshy fish) .

Stage 1:Fry the fish Marinate fish with 1 tsp red chilly powder, 1/2 tsp pepper powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, and salt.Keep them for 20 mins. Fry the fish in Gingelly oil till it become very crisp.(Remove all moisture) Stage 2: Make Gravy In 1/4 cup of gingelly oil, add mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds allow it to crack.Add curry leaves.Add ginger,garlic and green chillies. saute till it becomes golden brown. Add 4 tsp of chilly powder,pinch asafoetida powder ,1/2 tsp of pepper powder, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, and salt.Fry this and add 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/4 cup water .Boil this well. Check salt .Add fried fish and mix well. Stage 3: Roast and grind(This can be also done along with making the gravy) Roast mustard seeds ,jeera and fenugreek seeds(without oil) ..Grind it well and add to pickle. On the first two days there will be some sourness,later the fish will absorb all :)
