This unique canberry spinach dal is tangy and tasty dish you should definitely try.
- Dry roast the toor dal and soak for 30minutes.
- Take around 4-5 cups of water in a thick bottomed bowl and bring it to boil.
- Now add the soaked toor dal in it, bring it to boil and cook with closed lid on low flame until 90 %cooked.
- Then add chopped onions, green chillies, turmeric, washed cranberries on top of the dal and cook until cranberries are cooked.Add some more water if needed.
- Finally add chopped spinach and let it cook for 5 more minutes.
- Add salt, coriander powder to the same pan, mix well and mash well.
For tempering:
- Heat oil/ghee in another pan, add mustard seeds, crushed garlic, curry leaves, red chilies and cumin seeds, saute it.
- Once done, add the cooked dal to the tadka pan then immediately cover the lid and let it stand for 5-10minutes. Mix well and then serve with rice/roti.
