Usually making biryani is a very time-consuming task. We look for an easy solution for our meals. This recipe of aloo palak biryani is a quick biryani recipe and Potato makes this palak rice yummier.
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into small pieces then deep fry in oil and take them in a paper towel to keep aside.
- Heat oil in a biryani handi, add bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamom, shahi jeera and saute it.
- Then add green chilly paste, ginger garlic paste and saute it.
- Add finely chopped mint leaves, coriander leaves, tomatoes,spinach, yogurt salt,turmeric powder, mix it andcook it in a slow flame.
- Take another pan and add water, once it comes to boil add basmati rice (soaked in the water for 30 minutes) cook the rice until it is 90% done.
- Take out half of the potato masala in another bowl and spread the rest over masala in the handi.
- When rice is 90% cooked add rice layer to the top of the potato masala.
- Then add potato layer, fried onions, rice layer and again potato layer and rice layer.
- Then add ghee, fried onions, put the lid on and do not cook directly on the flame but first put tawa on the flame then put biryani handi, cook this on a slow flame for 5 to 7 minutes.
Now serve this biryani with any raita or salan.
