Ingredients used in Steamed sweet finger Millet Crumb or Ragi Puttu
• Salt - to taste.
• White sugar or granulated jaggery or brown colored sugar - 1/2 cup.
• Unsalted roasted groundnut - 1 cup.
• Fresh grated coconut(half riped) - 1 cup.
• Ragi flour - 2 cup.
• Water - 1 cup.
• Cardamom powder - 1 pinch.
Method:
1) To the Ragi flour, add a pinch of salt 2) Start adding water little by little to the flour and mix well till a stage is reached where the flour is moist, but if you make a ball out of it will crumble. The flour should be wet enough for steaming. In a bowl place a rinsed wet cloth and transfer the flour over it. 3) Steam cook the flour in pressure cooker or in steamer for 10-15 minutes. 4) Dry grind the roasted groundnut in blender to get a coarse powder. 5) Transfer the hot steamed flour to a bowl and mix it well again to a grainy form. 6) Add the groundnut powder, grated coconut and mix well the contents. 7) Sprinkle sugar or grated jaggery and a pinch of cardamom powder and again mix the contents well. 8) The hot steamed soft sweet finger millet crumb or Ragi puttu is ready.
