- Soak whole red gram overnight and boil it.
- Heat oil in a pan, add cloves, black cumin seeds, cinnamon, cardamom, star anise, bay leaf and saute it.
- Add onion, mint leaves, green chilies, a little salt, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, tomatoes, boiled whole red gram and saute it for 1 minute.
- Add water and boil it, add basmati rice and cook with the lid on it.
Now Red gram pulao is ready to serve.
