Ingredients used in Puzhikari
• Salt - 1 tablespoons.
• Tamarind paste - 2 tablespoons.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tablespoons.
• Small onion - 50 grams.
• Pepper (whole) - 1/4 tablespoons.
• Red chillies - 3 numbers.
• Graped coconut - 1/2 numbers.
• Oil - 3 tablespoons.
• Mustard - 1/4 tablespoons.
• Curry leaves - 5 leaf.
1. Grind grated coconut, red chillies, pepper, 4 small onions and turmeric powder to a fine paste. The grinded paste must be very fine, that is very important. 2. Heat the pan and fry the remaining small onions till its golden brown. (Do not chop the onions. Just cut them into big pieces) 3. Once the onions are fried golden brown, pour the tamarind paste and add the grinded paste to it. 4. Add salt to it. Add required water so that you get the kuzhambu in a liquid form. 5. Now let it be in high flame until the kuzhambu boils well. Once it boils well, immediately remove the kuzhambu from flame. 6. Now fry mustard and curry leaves and add it to the kuzhambu. A tasty kuzhambu is ready. Have it with rice and a potato fry would be a best combination. Enjoy your meal!!!
