Ingredients used in SORREL LEAVES CHANA DAL
• Channa dal(soaked for 1 hr) - 1 cup.
• Sorrel leaves - 3-4 bunch.
• Cumin seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Garlic - 6 cloves.
• Dry red chillies - 2 numbers.
• Green chillies - 3 numbers.
• Curry leaves - 1 springs.
• Salt - to taste.
• Peanut(soaked for 1 hour) - 1/4 cup.
• Oil - 4 teaspoons.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
Method:
  • Take the pressure cooker and add channa dal, sorrel leaves, 2 teaspoons oil, turmeric powder, water and pressure cook for 4 to 5 whistle.
  • Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a pan add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, crushed garlic, dry red chilies and saute it.
  • Add green chilies, curry leaves, a little salt, peanut and saute it and pour it into the pressure cooker and mix thoroughly and boil the sorrel leaves and channa dal mixture.

Now the sorrel leaves chana dal is ready to serve with rice.
