Ingredients used in Shallots Baby Onion Garlic Sambar
• Sambar powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Oil - as required.
• Red chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Jaggery - 1 tea spoon.
• Baby onions - 15 number.
• Coconut milk - 1/2 cup.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Toor dal - 1 cup.
• Dry red chilies - 3 number.
• Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup.
• Green chilies - 3 number.
• Curry leaves - 3 springs.
• Hing - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Garlic - 5 number.
• Tomato (chopped) - 3 number.
• Tamarind pulp - 1 cup.
• Water - as required.
• Salt - to taste.
• Sambar powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Red chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Jaggery - 1 tea spoon.
• Coconut milk - 1/2 cup.
• Toor dal - 1 cup.
• Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup.
Method:
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds when they splutter, add cumin seeds, dry red chilies, green chilies, curry leaves, Hing, turmeric, garlic and saute well. Add chopped tomatoes, tamarind pulp, water, salt and let it boil. Now add sambar powder, red chili powder, jaggery, coconut milk and put on a lid and cook it. Then add boiled Toor dal, cook for few more mins, add coriander leaves andgive it a mix. *Shallots Baby Onion Garlic Sambar is now ready to serve with hot rice.*
