Stuffed Indian Paratha from Bihari cuisine, stuffed with roasted and powdered gram(sattu). A staple and wholesome breakfast item served with Brinjal curries or curd.

Sattu is authentic to the state of Bihar, and Sattu ke parathe is a wholesome breakfast option. It is spicey, digestive, nutritious and wholesome meal. Sattu Ka Paratha is different from all other paratha. Sattu Ka paratha is mostly made of grains. The filling is of Sattu which is basically made from the Chana (gram). While most of other stuffed paratha have the vegetable filling.

SATTU KA PARATHA

Ingredients used in SATTU KA PARATHA
• Roasted chana dal - half cup.
• Garam masala - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Green chillies - 1 no.
• Coriander powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Red chili powder - half tea spoon.
• Lime juice - 1 tea spoon.
• Onions(chopped) - half cup.
• Wheat flour - 1 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Water - as required.
Method:
  • Take a mixie jar and add roasted chana dal and blend into not too fine or too coarse fine powder.
  • Take a bowl, add roasted chana dal powder, garam masala, green chillies, coriander powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, lime juice, onions and mix nicely and keep stuffing mixture aside.
  • In another bowl add wheat flour, salt and water mix nicely to make a soft dough, add little oil and knead dough then keep aside.
  • Divide dough into small portion and make a well using hand and stuff the mixture in the center and seal edges.
  • Dust some flour and roll the paratha into round shape.
  • Heat tawa and place paratha and cook it on both side with little oil.

Now Sattu ka Paratha is ready to serve.
