Ingredients used in Plantain podimas
• Onion - 1 number.
• Salt - to taste.
• Cumin seeds - ½ tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - ½ tea spoon.
• Ginger - 1 piece.
• Chana daal - 1 tablespoon.
• Urad daal - 1 tea spoon.
• Red chilly whole - 3 numbers.
• Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons.
• Plantain - 2 numbers.
• Grated coconut - 2 tablespoons.
• Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon.
• Hing - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Green chilli - 3 numbers.
• Curry leaves - 1 spring.
• Pepper crushed - 1 tea spoon.
• Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
Method:
  • Take plantain, peel it and cut them into small pieces and boil it and mash them coarsely.
  • Heat coconut oil in a pan add red chilly whole, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana daal, urad daal, curry leaves, hing, ginger, green chilly, salt, and add onions, mashed plantains, crush peppercorn saute it.
  • Add grated coconut, lime juice, toss it and switch off the flame and sprinkle with chopped coriander leaves.
