Ingredients used in Mutton Bafat
• Mutton - 500 grams.
• Radish - 150 grams.
• Lime - 1/4 number.
• Split bengal gram - 150 grams.
• Ginger - 1 piece.
• Garlic - 5 cloves.
• Cloves - 3 numbers.
• Cinnamon - 1 piece.
• Pepper - 1 tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Ground nuts - 5 grams.
• Poppy seeds - 5 grams.
• Green chillies - 2 grams.
• Red chillies - 5 grams.
• Coconut - 1/2 number.
• Onions - 55 grams.
• Oil - as required.
• Salt - to taste.
• Vinegar - 1 tea spoon.
Method:
  • Clean and cut meat into 2.5 cm piece.
  • Boil radish in lime water till tender.
  • Grind together turmeric powder, red chillies, ginger, garlic, poppy seeds, groundnut, cinnamon, cloves and pepper using a little vinegar.
  • Make 2 extractions of coconut -milk, the first one thick and the second medium.
  • Heat oil, Add sliced onion and brown.
  • Add green chillies, spices and meat and second extract of coconut milk, vinegar and salt
  • Cook till meat is tender. Add cooked radish and first extract of coconut milk
  • Temper with a few slices of onion fried in oil, and serve hot .
