Ingredients used in Lemon Rasam
• Red chilies - 3 numbers.
• Asafoetida - pinch.
• Cumin seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Pepper corns - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Ghee - 1 tablespoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Tomatoes - 4 numbers.
• Green chilies (chopped) - 3 numbers.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1 bunch.
• Lemon juice - 3 tablespoons.
• Sugar - 1/2 tea spoon.
Method:
Take a bowl, add coriander stems, curry leaves, green chilies, tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder, boiledtoor dal along with water, cook it for 15 minutes. Take a pestle, add cumin seeds, pepper corns and crush it. Heat ghee in a pan, add mustard seeds, when mustard seeds splutter, add crushed pepper corn and cumin powder and even add asafoetida. Add red chilies, saute it and pour into the daal mixture and reduce the flame. Then add lemon juice, sugar, mix this well. At last, add coriander leaves to the same pan, and switch off the flame.
