Ingredients used in Jeera Aloo
• Boiled & diced potatoes - 250 grams.
• Chopped coriander leaves - 1 bunch.
• Coriander powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Red chili powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Turmeric powder - pinch.
• Salt - to taste.
• Fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi) - 1 tablespoon.
• Chopped green chilies - 2 no.
• Cumin powder (jeera) - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Finely chopped onions - 1 no.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Oil - 2 tablespoons.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tea spoon.
Method:
  • Make a mixture of cumin powder, coriander powder, chili powder by using water.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, let it splutter.
  • Then add chopped onions, fry till they are slightly brown in color. Add turmeric and ginger garlic paste and mix it for about half a minute..
  • In the same pan, add chopped green chilies, prepared spices mixture, crushed fenugreek leaves . Fry on medium flame for 2 minutes.
  • Then add boiled potatoes and saute . Once they are done, add chopped coriander leaves and simmer for 5 minutes more.

Serve with chapatti, puri or rice.
