Most Indian foods that are freshly cooked with fat free oil and less ghee are healthier. Indian foods have a wide variety of items that are nutritious, healthy and a well balanced meal. Such exotic and enriching menus are passed on from one generation to another through oral tradition in such a way that healthy habits are cultivated right from childhood.Traditional Indian food like steamed rice, roti, variety of vegetable dishes, dals, yoghurt and curries are a healthy choice and well balanced in nutrition. The breakfast dishes of South India like the Kerala Puttu, Idli, Dosa, Pongal and many more variety are few of the healthy recipes.The key idea to have a healthy diet is to avoid extra ghee, butter, cheese and oils. Indian Flat breads like the Naan, Rotis or Chapatti are healthier than other fried breads like Poori or stuffed Parathas. Chicken soup is said to help clear a running noseMinestrone: It provides Proteins, Fibres and Vitamin C.North Indian desserts are very similar in taste as they are derived from a milk pudding (kheer) or rice base and are usually soaked in syrup.
