Gongura and Red Chilli Chutney

Ingredients used in Gongura and Red Chilli Chutney
• Oil - 2 teaspoons.
• Fresh red chillies - 8-10 numbers.
• Garlic - 5-6 numbers.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoons.
• Sorrel leaves - 1 bunch.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan, add fresh red chillies, garlic, turmeric powder and saute it.
  • Add sorrel leaves and toss it, cook for 2 minutes.
  • Transfer into a blender, allow it rest and add salt, later blend into coarse paste.

Now gongura and red chilli chutney is ready to serve with rice along with little ghee.

Random! I had no idea that sorrel (gongura, hibiscus, jamaica, whatever) was even green. The only thing I have ever seen is just dried red ones that come in a giant bag for a dollar or so.?
