DESI POTATO KURMA

Ingredients used in DESI POTATO KURMA
• Potato - 150 grams.
• Ghee - 2 tablespoons.
• Whole garam masala (each) - 2 numbers.
• Chana dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Fresh coconut(grated) - 1/2 cup.
• Cashew nuts - 6-8 numbers.
• Onion (chopped) - 1 number.
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmeric powder - 1 pinch.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Tomatoes - 2 numbers.
• Chilli powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Curd - 1/2 cup.
• Coriander leaves - 1/2 bunch.
Method:
  • Heat ghee in a pan add whole garam masala, chana dal when chana dal is slightly colored
  • Add freshly grated coconut saute it for 2 minutes, let it cool down make it into a fine paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan add cashew nuts saute it for 2 minutes then add chopped onions, salt cook this few minutes then add a pinch of turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, when ginger garlic paste raw flavor is gone add tomatoes, chili powder add very little water cook this with the lid on.
  • Once tomatoes cooked add prepared chana dal paste, green chilies, add some water and beaten curd mix it.
  • once it comes to boil add boiled potato piece cook this for 5 minutes, switch off the flame and let it rest for 2 minutes.

Garnish with chopped coriander and serve with chapati or naan, roti.
