CAPSICUM MASALA SANDWICH DOSA

Ingredients used in CAPSICUM MASALA SANDWICH DOSA
• Rice(regular) - 2 cups.
• Par-boiled rice/idli rice - 1 cup.
• Urad dal - 1 cup.
• Pressed rice - 1/4 cup.
• Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Oil - as required.
• Onion (sliced) - 1 number.
• Green chillies - 2-3 numbers.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Coriander powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Garam masala - 1 pinch.
• Chilli powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Chopped capsicum - 3-4 numbers.
• Chopped tomatoes - 1-2 numbers.
• Water - as required.
Method:
  • Soak rice, parboiled rice, urad dal, pressed rice, fenugreek seeds in water for about 4 hours, drain the water and blend to a fine paste. Keep this batter in a warm place to ferment for 12 hours and then use to make the dosa. Add a little salt and mix well.
  • Add little oil in a pan and when it gets hot, add onion slices, slitted green chilies, turmeric powder and little salt and salt well.
  • Add coriander powder, a pinch of garam masala and chili powder. Mix and then add bell peppers and toss for few seconds and then add tomatoes, mix and switch off the flame. Transfer to a plate and keep aside.
  • Take a spoon full of batter and pour it on one side of the hot tawa and on the side spread one more dosa of the same size.
  • Sprinkle some capsicum masala on one dosa and drizzle some oil on both dosa.
  • Cover the dosas with a lid and just cook for few minutes. Take one side of the dosa and flip it onto the other dosa and fry (like a sandwich). Remove and serve it hot.
