Ingredients used in Poricha kootu
• Toor dal cooked - 1 grams.
• Mustard - 1 teaspoons.
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmeric - 1 pinch.
• Coconut oil(preferred) / any cooking oil - 1 teaspoons.
• Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoons.
• Green chillies - 5 numbers.
• Coconut (grated) - 3 teaspoons.
• Chayote squash(chow chow) - 1 numbers.
• Curry leaves - 1 springs.
• Asofoetida - 1 pinch.
Method:

cook toor dal and keep aside. cut the chayote squash into big pieces and boil it with salt and turmeric till it gets cooked. grind the coconut ,cumin seeds and green chillies in a blender. Now heat the oil and add mustard seeds , asofoetida and curry leaves. now, add the ground mixture, cooked dal and veg . Boil it together till the raw coconut smell goes.
