Ingredients used in Kanda-Bachale(YAM-Bachalekura)
• Hing - 1 pinch.
• Greenchilles - 4 numbers.
• Red chilles - 4 numbers.
• Urad dal(minnapappu) - 1 teaspoons.
• Jeera - 1 teaspoons.
• Mustard seeds(avalu) - 1 teaspoons.
• Bachalekura(indian leafy vegetable) - 1 bunch.
• Kanda (yam) - 500 grams.
• Curryleaves - 6 leaf.
• Oil - 4 tablespoons.
• Salt - 1 to taste.
• Mustard powder - 1 to taste.
Method:
Boil kanda(yam) which is cut into cubes and Bachalekura leaves until yam is 3/4 done. Drain th mixture and leave for 2 or 3 min. In pan heat oil fry urad dal,mustard seeds,jeera,redchilles,greenchilles,add hing and curry leaves Now add the mixture that is drained in to the pan and mix well.close with a lid. After 4 minutes add the mustard paste which is made of 1 tbsp,mix it well and let cook for another 7 minutes. Serve hot with rice.
