Ingredients used in plain pulao
• Cinnamon - 2 pcs .
• Pepper corns - 6 .
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp .
• Tomatoes, chopped - 2 .
• Large onion sliced - 2 .
• Maggi soup cubes - 3 .
• Hot water - 4 cups .
• Basmati rice - 2 cup.
• Cloves - 5 .
• Cardamons - 4 .
• Ghee or oil - 2 tsp .
• Salt to taste - .
Method:
Wash and soak rice for 1/2 hour Heat ghee, add the whole spices and onion and fry on medium flame till light brown. Add the tomatoes and fry till soft. Add the soup cubes and stir till the cubes are dissolved. Add the rice and fry till each grain is coated with ghee. Add water, turmeric and salt and bring to boil, stir and transfer to very low flame and cook till all the water is absorbed. Dot with butter, if desired, and serve hot. Garnish with hard boiled eggs, sliced or cut into half
