Ingredients used in nutritious dal patoru
• For tadka:- mustard seeds,cumin seeds - each 1 teaspoons.
• Green chillies - 4-5 .
• Dry red chillies - 4-5 .
• Toor dal,chana dal,masoor dal - each 1/4 cup.
• Whole moong dal - 2 cup.
• Split urad dal - 2 teaspoons.
• Onoins medium sized - 2 .
• Curry leaves - .
• Fine sev/ boiled rice noodles for garnishing - .

Soak all dals along with dry red chillies overnight. Now drain water and put dals in the mixer,add salt,green chillies and a little water.Grind to a paste ( not too coarse or too smooth.)(consistency of the mix should be slighlty thicker than the idli mix)Now steam the mix( just like idlis) in the idli maker.Once the whole mix is steamed let it cool and crumble it into fine pieces.(can do it in a mixer by pulse grinding)Now take a pan add 2 tsp of oil ,add mustard seeds ,cumin seeds,urad dal and curry leaves.Fry well and add chopped onions, fry till crisp.Now add the crumbled mix and fry well.Garnish with sev or boiled rice noodles.
