Ingredients used in Mutton - Andhrawala
• Mutton - 500 grams.
• Ghee - 120 grams.
• Curd - 1 cup.
• Onions (chopped) - 2 numbers.
• Tomatoes (chopped) - 1 number.
• Cashew nuts - 25 grams.
• Cloves - 8 numbers.
• Cardamoms - 4 numbers.
• Oil - 1/4 cup.
• Cinnamon - 2 numbers.
• Salt - to taste.
• Ginger garlic paste - 2 teaspoons.
• Red chili powder - 2 teaspoons.
• Fresh coconut paste - 1 tablespoon.
• Poppy seeds paste - 1 tablespoon.
• Coriander powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Black cumin powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Green chili paste - 4 teaspoons.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Water - as required.
Method:
  • Clean mutton pieces, add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, black cumin powder, coriander powder, mix it well and keep it aside for half an hour.
  • Heat ghee in a pan, add and saute cashew nuts till they turn into light golden colour.
  • In the same pan, add oil, when oil heats up add cloves, cardamoms, cinnamon and saute it.
  • Then add chopped onions, ginger garlic paste, green chili paste till you get a nice smell.
  • Then add chopped tomato pieces and once it thickens add mutton. Cook on slow flame and when the water evaporates.
  • Add some water, fresh coconut paste, poppy seeds paste, salt and mix it well. Transfer it in a pressure cooker for three whistles.
  • At last, garnish with cashew nuts and coriander leaves.
