Golden Nuggets Golden Nuggets are simple to prepare, yummy and the most popular snack/ appetizer of the century. Homemade golden nuggets taste so much better than the commercially packed golden nuggets. These nuggets are made fresh with the goodness of chickpeas and other spices, herbs, fried easily in Phillips Airfryer with rapid air technology using just a teaspoon of oil. These awesome golden nuggets are truly irresistible combination of chickpeas, fresh herbs and bold seasonings mixed together, finely coated in crispy golden bread crumbs.
These are just divine yummy bites that are crispy from the outside and soft from inside exploring of different flavors. These awesome Golden nuggets are great to be served in the evening tea time or as a starter to your guests. Golden nuggets are also an ideal recipe especially to kids who fuss around eating veggies and cereals. Make them smaller and crispy and serve as party snacks. Kids would just love gulping them down. Chick peas or Garbanzo beans are extensively used in Indian cuisine.
They are very delicious legumes and come in a variety of colour. These beans are popular in the Middle East and in many countries in Asia. The chick peas are very versatile, buttery to taste and they lend and blend well with different spices to enhance the flavours of the dish. They give a nutty taste and are used in various dishes across the country. Garbanzo beans are the main ingredient in making of Hummus, Falafel and many Middle Eastern dishes.
Apart from offering its goodness of savour and flavours to the dish, the garbanzo beans also come with a bountiful of nutritional benefits to keep us healthy and fit. These beans provide an excellent source of molybdenum and they are a good source of folic acid, fiber and manganese. They are a rich source of protein as well as minerals such as iron, copper, zinc and magnesium. Garbanzo beans are extremely low in fat, can help lower cholesterol and improve blood sugar levels.
How to prepare Golden Nuggets:
Ingredients:
Directions:
In the food processor, add in the onions, garlic, coriander leaves, mint leaves, chick pes (soaked for 4-5 hours), coriander powder, chilli flakes, lime juice and salt to taste.
Blend all these ingredients to coarse paste. If required for binding the mixture, add in some chickpea flour and run the blender once. Remove this mixture into a bowl and take some mixture and shape them into nuggets.
Do the same with until the mixture is over. Add a tsp of oil in a bowl of water and soak your fingers into this water and shape the nuggets.
This will help in keeping the nuggets moist and fry evenly. Preheat the Philips air fryer at 200 degree C for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, pull out the basket and place all the nuggets in the basket and fry them for 7 minutes. Serve hot with any sauce or mint chutney of your choice.
Some of my fantastic and delectable dishes made from this humble and delicious Chickpea are:
Chole Kasoori Methi, Chole masala, Aloo Chole Saagwala, Chole Dhania Masala, Pindi Chole Chole Masala with Special Spice Powder, Mushrooms Chickpea Curry Dhingri Chole, Channa Cabbage, Chana Jor Garam – Indian Garbanzo Street Snack, Achari Channa Pulao, Masala Vada Style Falafel, Simple Hummus Most of the above dishes are always tempting with its subtle seductive magic of flavours and sheer visual delight that allures our taste buds.
