Ingredients used in Fish Peera(Meen thoran)
• Salt - to taste.
• Kokum(kodampuli) - 2 numbers.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Green chillies - 4 numbers.
• Ginger - 1 stricks.
• Shallots - 6 numbers.
• Coconut grated - 1/2 cup.
• Sardines or anchovy - 1 lbs.
• Oil - 1 tablespoons.
Method:
soak the kokum in hot water for 20 mins.clean the fish.If using sardines,cut into pieces.Coarse grind coconut,shallots,green chillies and ginger. Heat the oil in a pan,and add the gravy to that and saute it for a few seconds.Then add the fish along with curry leaves,salt and kokkum with the soaked water. Mix and cover the pan and cook for 15 minutes in a medium flame.If any water is existing,stir it for some more time uncovered till dry .Good dish to serve with rice.
