CREAM OF CAULIFLOWER SOUP

Ingredients used in CREAM OF CAULIFLOWER SOUP
• Butter - 2 teaspoons.
• Garlic (chopped) - 3 teaspoons.
• Onion (chopped) - 1 number.
• Carrot - 1 number.
• Potato - 1 number.
• Cauliflower(florets) - 1 number.
• Pepper powder - 2 teaspoons.
• Milk - 2 tablespoons.
• Cream - 2 tablespoons.
• Nutmeg powder - 1 tea spoon.
Method:
  • In a hot pan add butter chopped garlic, onion salt and saute them.
  • Now add carrot and potato pieces and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add cauliflower florets, pepper powder and by some water cook till they are soft and make it into a fine paste.
  • To that add milk, fresh cream, nutmeg mix well and serve hot.

Cream of cauliflower is an awesome, creamy and crunchy soup which will surely tickle your taste buds with its exotic and subtle flavors. It is a brilliant and comforting winter food to delight your palate with. Cream of cauliflower is easy to prepare dish, made combining carrot and potato pieces to cauliflower florets sautéed in butter along with few garlic pieces, onions and pepper powder to give a little heat. The veggies are blended into a nice creamy paste and added with little milk and fresh cream to give a creamy, silky texture.

 

Pinch of nutmeg added to enhance the zest of the dish. Nutmeg is pleasantly aromatic is one of the highly prized spices, well known for its aromatic, aphrodisiac and curative properties. This awesome spice is generally used to flavor a variety of dishes like sweets, pies, cakes, donuts etc. Nutmeg is also uses in sauces and soups. This spice is popular used as a common ingredient in curry powder and in marinating meats and vegetable dishes in most Asian countries.

Recipe:  Cream of Cauliflower

Ingredients:

  1. Cauliflower florets                    -       1 cup
  2. Potato                                          -       1 no
  3. Onion, chopped                        -       1 no
  4. Garlic, chopped                        -       3 nos

  8. Milk                                             -       2 tbsp
  9. Cream                                          -       2 tsp

Directions:

  1. Heat a pan and add butter, chopped garlic, onion, salt and sauté well.
  2. Add carrot and potato pieces and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add cauliflower florets, pepper powder and add some water.
  4. Cook till they become soft and get make into a fine paste.
  5. To it add milk, fresh cream, nutmeg and mix well.
  6. Serve hot

 

Cauliflower is a highly nutritious vegetable that contains many nutrients that can help prevent a range of diseases from cancer to cataracts. Cauliflower blended with black pepper is truly delicious and gives a nice spicy flavor. With regards to healthy eating and cooking of good food, cauliflower stands out in a class all of its own. Closely related to broccoli, it is of the same species as cabbage and Brussels sprouts. Cauliflower is an annual plant. It matures to be eaten only once per year and is cultivated from seeds.

Hi Mrs. Ragini! I wanted to check if I add the cream of mushroom to this recipe instead of the cream how would that be? Does cauliflower & mushroom go together?Also, can I make this a day ahead & refrigerate it??
