Ingredients used in Chicken Hush Puppies
• Corn meal flour - 100 grams.
• All-purpose flour - 100 grams.
• Baking powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Baking soda - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Butter - 1 tablespoon.
• Chicken(finely chopped) - 1 cup.
• Garlic(finely chopped) - 1 tea spoon.
• Onion(finely chopped) - 1 number.
• Pepper powder(crushed) - 1 tea spoon.
• Coriander leaves(finely chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
• Water - 100 ml.
• Milk - 200 ml.
• Sugar - 1 tea spoon.
• Oil - 1 tea spoon.
• Eggs - 2 numbers.
Method:
  • In a bowl, add cornmeal flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and a little salt and mix all these ingredients and keep aside.
  • Heat 1 teaspoon of butter in a pan, when it melts, add chicken pieces, chopped garlic, onion, crushed pepper, coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Add water, milk, combine all ingredients together and allow it to boil.
  • Then add salt (to taste) and little sugar and mix well.
  • Once it starts boiling, switch off the flame and add the above-prepared flour mixture, mix to make the dough.
  • Shift this mixture into a big bowl, add beaten eggs and whisk again.
  • Dust some flour in your fingers and shape them into slightly big dumplings and keep aside.
  • Then with the help of a brush, coat the dumplings with 1 teaspoon of oil.
  • Preheat the Philips Airfryer at 180 degrees C for 3 minutes.
  • Open the basket and drop in the Hush Puppies and air fry for 7 to 8 minutes at 180-degree centigrade.

Serve it hot with any sauce of your choice.

Chicken, finely chopped                  -       1 cup

Onion, finely chopped                      -       1 no

Pepper pd, freshly crushed              -       1 tsp

Coriander leaves, chopped               -       1 tbsp

Water                                                    -       100 ml

Milk                                                      -       200 ml

Sugar                                                    -       1 tsp

Oil                                                         -       1 tsp

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add cornmeal flour, all-purpose flour, baking pd, baking soda and little salt. Combine all ingredients together and keep aside.
  2. Heat a sauce pot and add little butter. When it melts, add chicken pieces, garlic, onion, crushed pepper, coriander leaves and mix well.
  3. Add water, milk, combine all ingredients together and allow it to boil.
  4. Add salt to taste and little sugar. Mix well.
  5. Once it starts boiling, switch off the flame and add in the flour mixture, mix to make dough.
  6. Shift this mixture into a big bowl, add beaten eggs and combine well.
  7. Dust some flour in your fingers and shape them into slightly big dumplings and keep aside.
  8. With help of a brush, coat the dumplings with 1 tsp of oil.
  9. Preheat the Philips Airfryer at 180 degree C for 3 minutes.
