THEEKA ALOO

Ingredients used in THEEKA ALOO
• Coriander seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Pepper - 1 tea spoon.
• Carom seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Big salt - 1 tea spoon.
• Dry red chilli seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Dry red chilies - 5-6 numbers.
• Oil - to taste.
• Garlic(chopped) - 1 tea spoon.
• Onion(chopped) - 1 cup.
• Potatoes (chopped) - 2 cup.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
Method:
  • Take a pan and add coriander seeds, pepper, carom seeds, mustard seeds and dry roast it.
  • Add big salt, dry red chilli seeds and saute it for half a minute and transfer it into a blender.
  • In the same pan add dry red chillies and dry roast them and transfer it to the same blender and blend it coarsely.
  • Wash the potatoes and cut it into cubes and place it in a bowl and add water.
  • Heat 3 tablespoons of oil and add garlic, onion and saute it.
  • Then add turmeric powder, chopped potatoes cubes and mix thoroughly and cook it with closed lid for 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Add the masala powder and mix thoroughly and place the lid on it and cook it for 2 minutes on a slow flame until the potatoes are nicely cooked.
  • Now the hot potato theeka is ready to serve with rice, roti and pulka.
