This is a classic sambhar podi recipe that my grandmother passed over to me when I first started cooking. I would like to share this recipe with all of you.

Recipe of Sambhar Podi ( Tamil Nadu style)

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Channa Dal  1/4 Cup
Split Moong Dal  1/4 Cup
Toor Dal  1/4 Cup
Fenugreek  1/4 Cup
Cumin seeds  1/2 Cup
Coriander seeds  1/2 Cup
Red Chillies( very hot)  2 Cup
Black Peppercorns  1/8 Cup
Turmeric Powder  2 Tablespoons

Fry toor dal, channa dal moong dal and fenugreek in a kadai seperately until they are golden brown and set aside to cool. In the same kadai fry the red chillies until they change colour a little bit. Then just heat up coriander seeds, cumin seeds and black peppercorns. Grind all the ingredients together to a fine powder in mixie
