BITTER GOURD IN TAMARIND SAUCE

Ingredients used in BITTER GOURD IN TAMARIND SAUCE
• Dry red chillies - 5-8 numbers.
• Chana dal - 1 tablespoon.
• Coriander seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Fresh coconut(grated) - 1 cup.
• Bitter gourd(slices) - 1 cup.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Urad dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Onion(chopped) - 1 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Curry leaves - 1 spring.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Green chillies - 4 numbers.
• Tamarind juice - 1 cup.
• Jaggery - 1 tea spoon.
• Oil - 4 tablespoons.
Method:
  • Cut bitter gourd into round slices.
  • Take a pan and add dry red chillies, chana dal, coriander seeds and dry roast and transfer into mixie jar, add roasted coconut and make paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add bitter gourd and saute it, later transfer into a plate. In the same pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, onion, little salt, curry leaves and saute it.
  • Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, green chillies, tamarind juice, blended paste, little water and mix it.
  • Add bitter gourd and check seasoning then add little salt, jaggery.

Atlast cook it for 5 minutes, with a lid on it.
