Description: Soft boiled eggs cooked in a tangy tamarind sauce combined with spices to give a zing taste and flavor to the taste buds. A popular south Indian dish popularly known as Guddu pulusu or kodi guddu pulusu.

Recipe of Egg Curry

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Salt 1 To Taste
Turmeric 1 Pinch
Chopped Chilli 3 Piece
Coriander Pdr 1 Tablespoons
Chopped Onion 3 Numbers
Cumin 1 Teaspoons
Cumin Pdr 1 Teaspoons
Eggs 10 Numbers
Chilli Pdr 1 Teaspoons
Curry Leaves 3 Springs
Fenugreek Leaves 1 Teaspoons
Ginger Garlic Paste 1 Tablespoons
Oil 3 Tablespoons
Mustard Seeds 1 Teaspoons
Tamrind Juice 100 ml


  1. Heat oil in a vessel and mustard seeds and let them splutter. Now add methi seeds, cumin and add onions, curry leaves and fry.
  2. Add chopped onions and green chillies and fry till they turn light brown. Add ginger garlic paste. 
  3. Now add chilli pwdr, turmeric pwdr, coriander pwdr and cumin pwdr, mix well and saute for few seconds.
  4. Add tamarind extract and 2 cups of water and bring to a boil. Add salt and sugar and reduce heat and let it simmer for 10 mts. Add the boiled and fried eggs and let it cook in the gravy for 3 minutes or till you get the required gravy consistency.
  5. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve this hot with steamed rice or rotis.

Slightly fry the boiled eggs with some oil before adding. This makes eggs more crispy and kids will enjoy it....

Hey Sanjay, I happen to bump into yr website just 3 days ago thr' sulekha.dom and WOWWWW is just a squeel on all yr recipes, more than the recipes, its yr video presentation thats awesome and makes it easier and enjoyable to cook. On Sunday, I tried the andhra chicken pulao which came out excellent and complimented by my family. Though I am a fairly good cook, its a passion for me and as you said, lots of love goes into the preparation and thats the reason the dishes turns out 'mouth watering'..Thank you and gr8 going..look fwd to many more from yr end. Thnx once again !
